Equine Veterinary Services in Southwest Florida
All of the below services are available through Sunny Coast Veterinary’s ambulatory practice, where we perform the procedures at your location, and our centrally-located haul-in clinic. The haul-in clinic provides ample space for the performance of lameness and pre-purchase exams.
There are also dedicated stalls for hospitalized cases, including emergency and critical care. This facilitates overnight monitoring and long-term rehabilitation and treatment.

Diagnostic Services
Our practice is equipped to handle just about any of your diagnostic needs in the field or at your location. Our state of the art equipment will capture detailed digital images and video of the desired areas. This is generally used in exams dealing problems such as:
- Fracture and bone injuries
- Soft tissue (such as muscle, tendon and/or ligament) injuries
- Reproduction and artificial insemination procedures
- Joint injections
Sports Medicine and Lameness Services
This is our number one area of expertise. Our extensive experience in this area has helped many top level sports horses achieve soundness after a major injury. Whether your needs involve treating lameness or increasing a higher level of performance, we can help. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to:

Emergency & Critical Care
As part of our commitment to our clients’ needs during urgent situations and injuries, we have on-call availability to address issues such as:

Dentistry Services
A horse’s teeth continue to grow throughout its lifetime, and sharp points can develop along the edges. Problems such as hooks, ramps and steps are common if a proper dental is not performed on a regular basis, which can in turn affect the horse’s eating, behavior, and comfort.
Our veterinarians are well-trained dentists, and we offer a motorized dentistry service that is performed under sedation.
Reproduction Services
Having a large success rate and passion for this area of veterinary medicine, our veterinarians are very well versed in the art and science of equine reproduction. Some of the reproduction services we offer are:
- Mare breeding soundness exams
- Stallion semen collection

- Artificial insemination (using fresh, fresh chilled or frozen semen)

Laboratory

Sunny Coast Veterinary is able to provide a veterinary medical service that sets us apart from other providers. We treat animals with a unique approach, combining modern Western medicine and proven Eastern medicine that gives our clients incredible results. The two schools of medicine complement each other in an unprecedented way and when used together, have proven effective in treating the most difficult cases.
