We use diagnostic acupuncture scans combined with SAG 2,3,4 blood serum testing. ### Laminitis Treatment includes addressing underlying metabolic conditions (PPID, EMS), weight management, dietary changes, NSAIDs, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, chelation therapy, and corrective farrier work. ### Gastric Ulcers Diagnosed via endoscopy. Treatment includes acid-reducing medications, acupuncture, probiotics. Alfalfa hay is preferable to coastal Bermuda hay for ulcer prevention. Only Gastrogard is FDA-approved for treatment and prevention. ### Corneal Ulcers Do not apply any eye medication before veterinary examination. Corneal infections require treatment every 4-6 hours with topical antifungals and antibiotics. A subpalpebral lavage tube may be necessary. ### Anhidrosis Common in Florida's hot, humid climate. Horses that cannot sweat properly are at risk of overheating. ## Veterinary Team ### Dr. Carla Francheville, DVM — Founder - Education: DVM from Atlantic Veterinary College of Prince Edward Island; BS in Biology from University of Prince Edward Island - Specialties: Lameness, sports medicine, reproduction, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) - Experience: Founded Sunny Coast Veterinary in 2005 ## Locations & Contact ### United States (Primary) - **Address:** 5171 Staley Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33905 - **Office Phone:** 941-312-7766 - **Fax:** 866-765-6486 - **24/7 Emergency:** 941-815-3832 (text preferred) - **Email:** info@sunnycoastvet.com - **Hours:** Mon-Fri 9 AM - 9 PM, Sat 11 AM - 6 PM - **Service Area:** Bradenton, Parrish, Sarasota, Venice, Nokomis, Myakka City, Englewood, Placida, North Port, Arcadia, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs ### Canada - **Address:** 1966 Lawrencetown Road, Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia B2Z 1C5 - **Phone/Emergency:** 902-600-0498 ## Frequently Asked Questions **Q: Do you take emergencies from non-clients?** A: Yes.
